For example, the low-income rate in Canada as of 2014 was 8.8%, this is significantly lower than what it was in the mid-1990s. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for immigrants, as the trend seems to be the opposite for people coming to Canada. With Canada having a high rate of immigrants in recent times, an estimated 500,000 annually, it is imperative that initiatives are set up to assist them ease into life in the country seamlessly.
There is Hope Ottawa (THO) is an NGO that stands as a beacon of support for immigrants into Canada. This body seeks to help reduce inequality and poverty among immigrants while assisting them to get employment through an array of settlement programs. As a dedicated non-governmental organization, THO helps new immigrants striving to find their footing.
